Is MBBS in Bangladesh Valid in India?

- Indian licensing exam: the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE), until the National Exit Test (NExT) takes its place.
- Supervised internship in India: a further 12 months of internship in India before full registration.
The NMC has advised students to make sure every FMGL condition is met before taking admission, and has said that gaps in duration, medium of instruction, syllabus or clinical training can mean no registration to practise in India. Safety and Political Context: Check Before You Apply
Conditions in Bangladesh have changed in recent years. In July 2024, during violent protests, the High Commission of India in Dhaka advised Indian students to avoid local travel and minimise movement outside their living premises, and the MEA reported that more than 4,500 Indian students returned to India from the roughly 8,500 then studying there. - The MBBS programme is taught in English. Bangladeshi programmes are commonly structured as about five years of study plus a one-year internship. Confirm that the college’s structure and your internship arrangement meet the NMC’s 54 + 12 month requirement at the same institution.
- You have the college’s published FMGE results for Indian students, not just a figure quoted by an agent.
- You have a written fee schedule covering every charge, with refund terms.
- You’ve confirmed the current NMC position on nmc.org.in.
Eligibility for MBBS in Bangladesh
- NEET-UG qualification is required for Indian students who want to practise in India.
- Completed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
